Y= (1/3).x -1

To find x-intercept we give y the value of Zero: So 0=x/3 - 1
and x /3= 1 → x = 3
To find y-intercept we give x the value of Zero: So y=0/3 +1 and y = 1
A, x-intercept (3,0) and B, y-intercept B(0,1)
You find A and B on the axis system and the line AB will be the graphic answer

\bf y=\cfrac{1}{3}x-1\\\\
-------------------------------\\\\
x-intercept\implies \stackrel{y}{0}=\cfrac{1}{3}x-1\implies 1=\cfrac{x}{3}\implies 3=x\qquad \boxed{(3,0)}
\\\\\\
y-intercept\implies y=\cfrac{1}{3}\stackrel{x}{0}-1\implies y=-1\qquad \boxed{(0,-1)}

Twelve people are given two identical speakers, which they are asked to listen to for differences, if any. Suppose that these pe
ruslelena [56]

Answer:

0.0537

Step-by-step explanation:

This follows a binomial distribution with : n

Number of trials 'N' = 12 ; Probability of success (difference between speakers) 'p' = 1/2 or 0.5 ; Probability of failure (no difference b/w speakers) = 1/2 or 0.5 ; No of success 'r' = 3

P (X = 3) = N C r. (p)^r.(q)^(n-r)\\

= 12C3 (0.5)^3 (0.5)^9

10. Make Sense and Persevere The flag of the
kumpel [21]

Answer:

  • s=\frac{P}{3}
  • Dimensions of the flag:

       lenght=6.65\ ft\\\\width=3.5\ ft

  • Area of the flag: 23.275\ ft^2

Step-by-step explanation:

<em><u>The missing figure of the exercise is attached.</u></em>

<em><u /></em>

We know that the perimeter of the triangle is given by:

P= 3s

Where "s" is the side lenght of the triangle.

Solving for "s", we get:

s=\frac{P}{3}

Therefore, if the perimeter of the triangle is 126 inches, its side length is:

s=\frac{126\ in}{3}\\\\s=42\ in

 Since  1\ ft=12\ in, we know that "s" in feet is:

s=(42\ in)(\frac{1\ ft}{12\ in})=3.5\ ft

The area of a rectangle can be calculated with this formula:

A=lw

Where "l" is the lenght and "w" is the width

We can observe in the figure that the lenght and the width of the flag are:

l=1.9s\\w=s

Then, the dimensions of the flag are:

l=1.9(3.5\ ft)=6.65\ ft\\w=3.5\ ft

And the area is:

A=(6.65\ ft)(3.5\ ft)=23.275\ ft^2
