United States dropped two nuclear bombs on Japan because the Japanese refused to surrender after the dropping of first nuclear bomb.

<u>United States two cities of Japan with atomic bombs. These cities were Hiroshima and Nagasaki.   Both Atomic bombs were dropped one by one in interval of three days as Bombing on Hiroshima took place on 6 August 1945 and Nagasaki on 9 August of the same year</u>. These bombings killed around 129,000 people in Hiroshima and 226,000 in Nagasaki and most of these causalities were of civiliansand this is the first and the last time until now that a Nuclear Bomb has been used.  

Just after the fist bombing of atomic bomb took place in Hiroshima, President of United States Truman issued a statement in which he told people of the country that United States has used most powerful atomic bomb against Japan and has spent over 2 billion dollars in order to achieve this scientific victory. <u>He further warned Japan in his statement that If Japan still declines to the terms of surrender by United States, Then they should expect rain of Nuclear Bombs on their cities. Following the speech of Truman, Japanese Prime Minister, Suzuki also replied by saying that Japan is committed to fight till the end and showed no indication of surrender</u>. United States was revoked by the comments of Japanese Prime Minister and they decided to drop another Nuclear bomb which they eventually dropped three days after first Nuclear Bomb but this time it was more lethal and the place of bombing was new, Nagasaki.
