So we have to figure out which kind of reasoning is involved into the sentence

"<em>The ceiling and wall of a room meet in a line segment.</em>"

First of all lets look at what options do we have:

<em>Inductive reasoning</em>: It is a logical process in which multiple premises, are all believed to be true or found true often, are combined to obtain a specific conclusion. Also, it may happen that all the premises are true in the inductive reasoning there is a chance that conclusion might be false.

For an instance: The coin I pulled from my pocket is a dime. That coin is a dime.  A fourth coin from the pocket is a dime. Therefore, all the coins in the pocket are dimes.

<em>Deductive reasoning</em>: It is a logical process in which a conclusion is based on the accordance of multiple premises that are generally assumed to be true. It can start with a hypothesis.

For example: All men are mortal. Arthur is a man. Therefore, Arthur is mortal.

Talking about our sentence "ceiling and wall of a room meet in a line segment."

We deduce where the ceiling of a room ends and where does the wall of the room end and they end up forming a straight line limited by the dimension of the room, therefore, we say that ceiling and wall of a room meet in a line segment.

Question 19 Only, Please show your work.<br><br> Solve the problem.
ankoles [38]

Answer:

5\sqrt{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Draw a diagonal (line segment from one corner to the opposite corner).  You'll form two right triangles with the diagonal being the hypotenuse of both triangles.

Use the Pythagorean Theorem:  (leg)^2 + (leg)^2 = (hypotenuse)^2.

Let  h  represent the length of the hypotenuse.

h^2 = 5^2+5^2\\h^2=25 + 25\\h^2 =50\\h=\sqrt{50}\\h=5\sqrt{2}

The question is just a bit vague. It should say opposite corners.  I'm assuming the question does not mean the length of one side!
