Answer: Food chains show a single path of energy in an ecosystem, and food web show all the overlapping food chains in that ecosystem.

Food chain is a linear food distribution channel where one organism is fed by the other in order to gain energy. Food chain involves the unidirectional flow of energy starting from lower most trophic level to higher trophic level. This energy distribution is according to the 10% law which suggest that energy at the lowest trophic level is the maximum which decreases by 10% on reaching subsequent higher trophic levels. Therefore, highest trophic level in the food chain receives the least energy. For example, plants are the primary producers of the ecosystem having highest energy these are fed by small animals like goat which are primary consumers, goat further eaten by fox ,which is secondary consumer. Lastly, the fox is eaten by lion ,which is a tertiary consumer. Here, lion will receive the lowest energy among all the trophic levels. Food web is an interconnection between overlapping food chains in an ecosystem. In a food web, food chains are dependent on each other for their food and energy requirements.

Prior to 1900, sea levels rose at maximum, _______ per year. since 1900 sea levels have risen _______ per year. a. 4 cm, 11 cm b
Aleks [24]

Prior to 1900, sea levels rose at maximum, 4 cm per year. Since 1900 sea levels have risen 11 cm per year.

How sea level is measured?

 • Tide stations and satellite laser altimeters are the main tools used to measure sea level.
 • The height of the sea as measured along the shore in relation to a particular place on land is what tide stations all around the world tell us about what is happening locally.
 • NASA uses satellites to measure sea level all over the world.
 • Height of the ocean's surface, often known as sea level, is measured by the Jason-3 satellite using radio waves and other equipment.
 • It studies how the global sea level is changing over time for the entire Earth every 10 days.
 • The average sea level is 6,371.001 km (3,958.756 mi), and it is 6,356.752 km (3,949.903 mi) at the poles.

What is the cause of the hydranencephaly? Select one: a. Aqueductal stenosis b. Subaranchoid stenosis c. Overproduction of CSF d
Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer:

The correct answer is d.

Explanation:

Hydranencephaly is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by the absence and replacement of the cerebral hemispheres by cerebrospinal fluid and necrotic remains, with preservation of the membranes (leptomeninges), within a skull of normal capacity and shape. It is the most severe form of cortical destruction cerebral bilateral and is considered an extreme form of porencephaly (focal cystic cavity). It mainly affects the territory of the internal carotid artery and middle cerebral artery, with preservation of the territories supplied by the vertebrobasilar arteries. The most accepted etiology is carotid vascular insufficiency, due to multiple causes (bleeding, placental thromboembolism, arteritis, vascular malformations, among others).

More than 150 years ago, inventors began working on a bright idea that would have a dramatic impact on how we use energy in our homes and offices. This invention changed the way we design buildings, increased the length of the average workday and jumpstarted new businesses. It also led to new energy breakthroughs -- from power plants and electric transmission lines to home appliances and electric motors.

Like all great inventions, the light bulb can’t be credited to one inventor. It was a series of small improvements on the ideas of previous inventors that have led to the light bulbs we use in our homes today.

bedbugs are parasites? Explain your reasoning using what you’ve learned about parasitic relationships.
velikii [3]

Explanation:

Bedbugs are parasites that rely on blood to survive. They can feed on the blood of any mammal, although they appear to prefer the blood of humans. They are attracted to the warmth surrounding mammalian bodies and the carbon dioxide present in breath expiration. It is usually these factors that guide bedbugs to locate a suitable host for feeding. DOES THIS HELP?
