The length of each leg is unknown is first you would have to figure out how long each leg is, one leg is 30ft because of the 30ft on the other side. But since we don't know how long the top is we have to do 70 - 30 which is 40 now that we have both legs we can use the Pythagorean theorem 30^2 + 40^2 = c^2 the answer is 2500 and if we square it we get 50 hope this helps :)

I need help pls, trigonometry: finding sides and angles
saveliy_v [14]

Answer:

13.  PS = 21.37

14.  68.74°

Step-by-step explanation:

13.   QS/39 = tan 28

      QS = 39 tan 28

sin 76 = QS/PS

PS sin 76 = QS

PS = QS/sin 76

    = 39 tan 28/sin 76

    = 21.37

14.    tan 47 = BD/18

        BD = 18 tan 47

        cos CDB = 7/BD

                        = 7/(18 tan 47)

         m∠CDB = arccos [7/(18 tan 47)

                        = arccos .362644...

                        =  68.74°

Solve the system by substitution.
y = -7x+ 3
y = -8x
QveST [7]

Answer:

x = -3, y = 24

Step-by-step explanation:

y=−7x+3;y=−8x

Step: Solve y=−7x+3 for y:

y=−7x+3

Step: Substitute−7x+3 for y in y=−8x:

y=−8x

−7x+3=−8x

−7x+3+8x=−8x+8x(Add 8x to both sides)

x+3=0

x+3+−3=0+−3(Add -3 to both sides)

x=−3

Step: Substitute−3 for x in y=−7x+3:

y=−7x+3

y=(−7)(−3)+3

y=24(Simplify both sides of the equation)

Solution:

First, let's find the surface area of the triangular prism.

  • 2(1/2 x 8 x 12) + 2(10 x 6) + (12 x 6) = Surface area of triangular prism
  • => (8 x 12) + 2(60) + (72) = Surface area of triangular prism
  • => (96) + 120 + 72 = Surface area of triangular prism
  • => 96 + 192 = Surface area of triangular prism
  • => 288 ft² = Surface area of triangular prism

Now, let's find the surface area of the rectangular prism.

  • 2(18 x 9) + 2(6 x 9) + 2(6 x 18)
  • => 2(162) + 2(54) + 2(108)
  • => 324 + 108 + 216
  • => 2(324) = 648 ft²

Now, add both the surface areas to find the surface area of the figure.

  • 288 + 648 = Surface area of figure
  • => 936 ft² = Surface area of figure

The surface area of the figure is 936 ft².
