It's 972. I got the answer by subtracting 1231 by 259 and then checked my work by adding 259 and 972 and then got 1231 again :D

F(x) = 2x + 6, g(x) = 4x2 Find (f + g)(x).
son4ous [18]
(f+g)(x) is simply saying add these two problems together.

(2x+6) + (4x^2)

Parenthesis are now useless, as there is only addition.

2x + 6 + 4x^2

Reorder, cause it's pretty and familiar

4x^2 + 2x + 6

We could further simplify

2(2x^2 + x + 3)

Solve this pleasee!!!!!!!!!!!
Sholpan [36]

Answer:

1) Solution (2,-3)

2) Solution (-1, -\frac{3}{2})

3) Solution (\mathbf{-\frac{1}{2},-\frac{5}{2}})

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to solve equations using elimination

1) 2x+2y=-2\\3x-2y=12

Let:

2x+2y=-2--eq(1)\\3x-2y=12--eq(2)

Adding both equations:

2x+2y=-2\\3x-2y=12\\--------\\5x=10\\x=\frac{10}{5}\\x=2

We get value of x = 2

Now, put value of x into equation 1 to find value of y

2x+2y=-2\\Put\:x=2\\2(2)+2y=-2\\4+2y=-2\\2y=-2-4\\2y=-6\\y=-6/2\\y=-3

So, we get y = -3

Solution (2,-3)

2) 4x-2y=-1\\-4x+4y=-2

Let:

4x-2y=-1--eq(1)\\-4x+4y=-2--eq(2)

Adding both equations

4x-2y=-1\\-4x+4y=-2\\------\\2y=-3\\y=\frac{-3}{2}

We get: y= -3/2

Now find value of x by putting value of y in eq(1)

4x-2y=-1\\Put\:y=\frac{-3}{2}\\4x-2( \frac{-3}{2})=-1\\4x+3=-1\\4x=-1-3\\4x=-4\\x=\frac{-4}{4}\\x=-1

We get x = -1

Solution (-1, -\frac{3}{2})

3) x-y=2\\x+y=-3

let:

x-y=2--eq(1)\\x+y=-3--eq(2)

Add both equations:

x-y=2\\x+y=-3\\-----\\2x=-1\\x=-\frac{1}{2}

We get x = -1/2

Now, put value of x in equation 2

x+y=-3\\-\frac{1}{2}+y=-3\\y=-3+ \frac{1}{2}\\y=\frac{-6+1}{2}\\y=\frac{-5}{2}

We get y = -5/2

Solution (\mathbf{-\frac{1}{2},-\frac{5}{2}})

Katarina wrote the standard form of a linear equation as 4x – 2/3 y = 8. Sofiya told her that the equation was not yet in standa
-BARSIC- [3]

The standard form of a linear equation in general is given by:

ax+by=c

Now we are given the equation :

4x-\frac{2}{3}y=8

In order to convert this into standard equation, we have to eliminate the 3 in the second term on the left side of equation.

Here 3 is in division ,so we have to perform opposite operation of division that is multiplication.

So multiplying both sides by 3 , we have

12x-2y=24

So that means option A.Multiply both sides of the equation by 3. The standard form of the equation is 12x – 2y = 24. is the correct advice given by Sofiya.
