Answer:

A). Static - Dramatic character who undergoes little to no inner change; a character that doesn't grow or develop.

Explanation:

Characters play a significant role in driving the plot and convey the intended content of the author to the audience. A story involves varied types of characters like the protagonist and antagonist, static or dynamic, round characters, etc. with each having a part to play in conveying the meaning of the story.

As per the question, a character exhibiting one principal trait throughout the course of the story would be categorized as 'static character' as such character is not subject to change. Static characters are those characters who experience a little or no change in their perspectives and do not evolve or grow as the story progresses contrary to dynamic characters experiences a crucial transition and undergoes a major change. Thus, option A is the correct answer.

Static character refers to the type of character who from the beginning till the end is the same person. Other characters experience some changes in their environment whereas, static character inherits confidence which appeals to the readers. Example of a static character is Sherlock Holmes. While he deals with the compelling cases and adventures he remains confident and maintains his wit.
