The Chaucer's tales considered to be a frame narrative because  the narrator is an actual person, but the characters he describes in each pilgrim's tale are fictional and therefore part of a frame. <span>Frame narrative is when there are stories told within stories, like how the Miller, the Knight, and so on tell their own stories within the frame of "The Canterbury Tales."</span>
