Greenhouse gases are the main human causes of global warming.They basically act like a warm blanket around the earth and trap heat. Causing the earth to get warmer and temperatures to rise.
The two main greenhouse gases we add to the air are methane and carbon dioxide.
The main source of carbon dioxide is the burning of coal,oil,gas and petrol(fossil fuels)in power stations.
We produce far more carbon dioxide than any other greenhouse gas. And its production has been on the rise since the industrial revolution.
So the burning of fossil fuels resulting in carbon dioxide is the main cause of global warming.
