which organelle is responsible for breaking down the cells that once made up the tail of the tadpole?

The cells present in the tail of the tadpole undergo a programme cell death. This is made possible when the organelles called lysosomes present in the cells break open to cause the breakdown and digestion of all the components of the cells. The lysosomes are break open only when the cells receive a signal from their neighbouring cells to undergo apoptosis, a process where the cell kills itself.

A population is best represented by
kkurt [141]

Answer:

Either A or B.. I Would most likely choose A but I'd assume either one

Explanation:

Because a population is the breeding in a specific area.. and Bald Eagles could travel distances from other while fish in a lake would be one area and they would most likely be breeding, as well as the tree one is in a given area, but they don't specifically breed so i'd assume A.

Each orientation of chromosomes produces gametes with the same genetic information from each parent.
oksano4ka [1.4K]

Answer: a) true

Explanation:

The goal of mitosis is to produce daughter cells that are genetically identical to the mother cell, without a single extra or missing chromosome. Meiosis, on the other hand, is only used for one purpose in the human body: the production of gametes or sex cells, i.e. sperm and eggs. The question is oriented to mitosis, in which prior to this cell division, the cell duplicates its DNA so that each daughter cell then inherits the genetic material. That is, the cell originally possesses 23 chromosomes, they duplicate to a total of 46 so that then each daughter cell receives 23.

The metaphase is the second phase of mitosis and meiosis that occurs after prophase where the envelope is lost and microtubules of the achromatic spindle (also called meiotic or mitotic) appear.

During metaphase, the chromosomes align themselves in the middle of the cell and this balanced midline spindle alignment is due to the equal and opposing forces generated by the kinetochore brothers.

Then during metaphase, the chromosomes will line up in the center of the cell to be separated and go each to a different daughter cell. But the moment they're found there, each orientation of chromosomes produces gametes with the same genetic information from each parent. Because because there have been no changes or mutations in the chromosomes, they have duplicated and have the same genetic information.

Answer:

cloning

Suppose an animal is heterozygous AaBb, and the traits are not linked. When meiosis occurs, what is the total number of possible
GrogVix [38]

Answer:

4 possible combinations of gametes

Explanation:

The animal is considered an heterozygotic dihybrid because it involves two genes that have different alleles for both genes. The dihybrid animal undergoes meiosis to produce gametes. According to Mendel in his laws of segregation and independent assortment, the alleles of the two genes separate into gametes independently of one another to produce 4 types of gametes.

Number of possible combinations of gametes formed by an heterozygote can be determined by using 2^n, where n is the number of characters. Number of characters or genes involved in this case is 2, Hence, 2^2 = 4 gametes.

The allelic combination in the four gametes are: AB, Ab, aB, ab.
