Lisa is working on plans for a 12-acre housing development l. A park will cover 2 1/2 arcres, and paved areas will take 1 3/4 arces. How many acres are left for the home sites. I know the answer but I don't know how to show my work so explain please. 20 points!

you turn 12 acres into a fraction which would be 48/4 then subtract 4 1/4 from that's because 2 2/4 + and 1 3/4 is equal to 4 1/4 you get it 2 and 2/4 by turning 2 1/2 into a fraction that has the same denominator as 1 and 3/4

First add 2 2/4 and 1 3/4
= 4 1/4
Then subtract 4 1/4 from 12
= 7 3/4
