A recipe for tropical punch calls for 222 cups of pineapple juice and 333 cups of orange juice. Jo creates a drink by mixing 333

cups of pineapple juice with 444 cups of orange juice. How does Jo's drink compare to the tropical punch recipe?

Answer:

Here we may have that all the numbers are tripled, so we have that:

the recipe needs:

2 cups of pineapple juice.

3 cups of orange juice.

Then the ratio of pineapple juice to orange juice is 2 to 3, then out of 5 total cups, 2/5 = 0.4 of the drink is pineapple, and 3/5 = 0.6 is orange.

Jo creates a drink that uses 3 cups of pineapple juice and 4 cups of orange juice.

In Jo drink we have that the ratio is 3 to 4, this means that the ratios are different, out of 7 total cups we have that 3/7 = 0.43 is pineapple and 4/7 = 0.57 is orange.

So in Jo's drink, the proportion of orange is smaller and the proportion of pineapple is bigger.

Answer:

C 0 solutions

Step-by-step explanation:

8x+47 = 8(x+5)

Distribute

8x+47 = 8x+40

Subtract 8x from each side

47 = 40

This is never true so there are no solutions

WILL MARK BRAINLIEST!!! A contractor has 34 meters of fencing that he is going to use as the perimeter of a rectangular garden.
snow_tiger [21]

Given

Shape of garden: Rectangle

Perimeter: 34 meters

Area: 72 square meters

Length of one side = x

Required

Find the dimension of the rectangle

Let the length of the other side of the rectangle be represented with y.

We start by writing out the perimeter of a rectangle

Perimeter, P = 2(L + B)

Where P is the perimeter; L and B are the length and width of the sides of the rectangle.

In this case L and B are represented by x and y

So,

P = 2(x + y)

By substituting 34 for P

34 = 2(x + y)

Multiply both sides by ½

½ * 34 = ½ * 2(x + y)

17 = x + y

Make y the subject of formula

y = 17 - x

Recall that the sides of the rectangle are represented by x and y.

Hence, the area of the rectangle is as follows.

Area = x * y

Substitute 72 for Area and 17 - x for y

72 = x(17 - x) --- Open bracket

72 = 17x - x² ---- Reorder

x² - 17x + 72 = 0

Now, we have a quadratic equation

Solving by factorisation

x² - 8x - 9x + 72 = 0

x(x - 8) - 9(x - 8) = 0

(x - 8)(x - 9) = 0

x - 8 = 0 or x - 9 = 0

x = 8 or x = 9

Recall that

y = 17 - x.

When x = 8

y = 17 - 8

y = 9

When x = 9

y = 17 - 9

y = 8

Writing out the result, we have

x = 8 , y = 9

Or

x = 9, y = 8

Hence, the dimension of the rectangle is 8 metres by 9 metres

a fox a coyote and a wolf weigh a total of 120 pounds the ratio of the weight of fox to the weight of coyote is 3:8 the weight o
ira [324]
There is not enough information to calculate this.

Knowing the weight ratio of the fox to coyote as 3:8 in no way allows you to know the respective ratio of the wolf. To know the weight of the wolf would require knowing its ratio value, then the weights of all 3 is an easy calculation.
Example - 3:8:15 (f:c:w) is a plausible ratio based upon real-world weight averages for certain species/subspecies of the three.
- knowing the values of the 3 terms as 3:8:15 gives a total of 3+8+15 = 26 ratio values
- you then simply divide the total weight by this ratio value total; 120/26 = 4.62
- so each ratio value is 4.62 units of weight***
- now, simply calculate the weight of each canid by multiplying its ratio value by the unit of weight...
fox; 3 x 4.62 = 13.86
coyote; 8 x 4.62 = 36.96
wolf; 15 x 4.62 = 69.3
Validate the ratios by adding the weights together (we should get 120) 13.86 + 36.96 + 69.3 = 120.12
The total is slightly out because that 4.62 figure was a rounding up.

Now, the thing is, there is nothing given that allows us to know exactly what ratio value the wolf should be, I chose 15 myself because that is a real-world plausible value when compared to 3:8 for the other 2. Changing it to 16, say, means that there are now 27 ratio values total giving a ratio value of 120/27 = 4.44 obviously changing the weights of all 3.

In a recent year, 33.6% of all registered doctors were female. If there were 44,500 female registered doctors that year, what wa
Ronch [10]

Answer:

132,440

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find out the total number of doctors, we must divide 44,500 by 33.6%. This will give you the total number of doctors from this specific data set.
