The correct answer is A. It avoids sentimentality by showing that Douglass was unaffected

Explanation:

The word objectivity refers to the quality of impartiality found in some texts, speeches or similar because they present only facts and do not rely on personal perspectives or judgments. This implies, an objective narrative is one that does not involve the perceptions, beliefs or emotions from the narrator, but only present facts. This can be used to have an effect on the reader as describing events without involving the narrator's feelings or perspectives gives the reader an impartial perspective of the events and makes the reader wonder about the feelings of the narrator towards them.

This is the case of the excerpt from Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass  presented in the question, considering Douglass does not give any information about his opinion or feelings while he is taken to a new place to have a new slave owner but he only describes the events from an impartial point of view showing himself unaffected, which makes this narrative objective. The previous ideas mean, the narrator or author uses objectivity to increase the power of the narrative as it avoids sentimentality or expressing any feeling by showing Douglass was unaffected.

Which word best describes the narrator’s tone toward Dr. Heidegger’s visitors in the first paragraph? RL.6
NeTakaya

Answer:

D. Disapproving.

Explanation:

<em>Dr. Heidegger's Experiment</em> by Nathaniel Hawthorne tells the story of how a scientist used his four friends in an experiment about water from the fountain of youth. And in their greed to stay young, the 'subjects' fought which resulted in the vase being broken.

The first paragraph of the story introduces the characters or the guests for the experiment. The first is <u>Mr. Medbourne</u>, <em>"now little better than a mendicant"</em>, <u>Colonel Killigrew </u>who <em>"had wasted his best years, and his health and substance, in the pursuit of sinful pleasures, which had given birth to a brood of pains, such as the gout, and divers other torments of soul and body"</em>. Then there is <u>Mr. Gascoigne</u>, <em>"a ruined politician, a man of evil fame"</em> and <em>"the withered gentlewoman, whose name was the </em><u><em>Widow Wycherly</em></u><em>". </em>

The way the narrator describes these four guests is more of a condescending tone than a happy or agreeable tone. So, we can infer that his tone towards them is a disapproving one.

Elis [28]

Alexander Pope main intention in "The R ape of the Lock" was to make fun of the mess up high class of the time, the main team is the trivialness of the nobility, in the final battle the baron has stolen a ringlet from Belinda’s hair and she is claiming it back, she claim herself victorious after splashing him with snuff, however during the combat the lock was lost so the Baron comforts her sating that is has risen to the stars and now the stargazers can admire it forever. This chaos for a ringlet and the end of the battle with the fantastic explanation show us how shallow were the high class and nobility issues.
