Why did Allies plan to land in Normandy and not somewhere else?

Because the Germans we at Calais waiting for us thinking that we were going to arrive there, but instead we changed our plans and came in at Normandy on the beaches in Northern France :) hoped this helped xx

A possible candidate would appeal to the masses and would be more population leaning than state leaning; states and cities with larger populations would receive more attention than more rural places; and more democratic and liberal leaning politicians would have a huge advantage because large cities and populations are their core demographic.
