Answer:

QST = 2x= 2*20 = 40°

Step-by-step explanation:

RSQ+QST= RST

we know that RST is 124

So,

84+2x= 124

Bringing 84 to the other side it becomes negative

2x= 124-84

= 40

Therefore,

x= 40/2

= 20 °

Here's your answer :)

Using the formula z=Kx/y<br> If z = 6 when x = 3 and y = 4, then what is z when x = 5 and y = 2?
Veseljchak [2.6K]

Answer:

z=kx/y

zy=kx

zy/x=kx/x ( divided both side by x. to find k)

k=zy/x

k=6×4/3(z=6,y=4,x=3)

k=24/3

k=8

so z=kx/y

z=8×5/2(replace the numbers in the place of variables,k=8,x=5,y=2)

z=40/2

z=20

0.8(5x+15)=2.6-(x+3)
elena55 [62]
0.8(5x + 15) = 2.6 - x + 3   Use the Distributive Property
       4x + 12 = 2.6 - x + 3   Combine like terms (2.6 and 3)
       4x + 12 = 5.6 - x         Add x to both sides
       5x + 12 = 5.6              Subtract 12 from both sides
              5x = -6.4             Divide both sides by 5
                x = -1.28

The sides of a triangle have lengths of x, x + 5, and 25. If the longest side is 25, which of the following values of x would ma
Amiraneli [1.4K]
In a right angle, the sum of the squares of the two shorter sides is equal to the square of the longest side.
Here, the longest side is 25, the shorter sides are x and x+5.

x^2+(x+5)^2=25^2 \\&#10;x^2+x^2+10x+25=625 \\&#10;2x^2+10x+25=625 \ \ \ |-625 \\&#10;2x^2+10x-600=0 \ \ \ |\div 2 \\&#10;x^2+5x-300=0 \\&#10;x^2+20x-15x-300=0 \\&#10;x(x+20)-15(x+20)=0 \\&#10;(x-15)(x+20)=0 \\&#10;x-15=0 \ \lor \ x+20=0 \\&#10;x=15 \ \lor \ x=-20&#10;

The length of a side must be a positive number, so x=15.
The answer is C.
