They weren't able to seize power because the left oriented workers organized unions. Because of that, workers of France chose left policies instead of right policies that were common at the time in many countries like Italy and Germany. Unionizing saved them from becoming fascist.

What book got Americans interested in and excited about California? And who wrote the book? (please anyone i am really desperate
slamgirl [31]

Ramona by Helen Hunt Jackson

This book, published in 1884, was a description and celebration of Spanish and Mexican culture in California. However, these depictions were largely made-up and romanticized. Despite this, it created a tourist boom for the state, causing Americans to become interested and excited about California.

Which country spent the least in total armaments in 1914
sp2606 [1]

Answer:

New weapons produced during the Industrial Revolution in the late 1800s heightened existing tensions among European nations as countries strove to outpace their enemies technologically. This armaments race accelerated in the decade before 1914 as the Triple Alliance of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy squared off against the Triple Entente of France, Russia, and Britain. Germany’s fears of increases in Russian armaments, and British fears of the German naval buildup, contributed heavily to the outbreak and spread of the First World War in 1914.
