The people who invented, built, and flew the very first airplane were the Wright Brother on December 17,1903 who lived in Dayton, Ohio. The Wright Brothers flew it for 12 seconds for the first time. The Wright Brothers are recognized for making the very first airplane. Sadly, they already passed away in May 30th of the year 1912. =( If it weren't for them, we would be still driving in cars and automobiles all around the world taking days to get to the location.
