PLZ MY HISTORY TEACHER GONNA KILL ME
GaryK [48]

Answer: November 1, 1955 – April 30, 1975,

Explanation:    The Vietnam War was a long that pitted the government of North Vietnam against South Vietnam and its principal ally, the United States. The conflict was intensified by the on going Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union.

The Vietnam War severely damaged the U.S. economy. The war also weakened U.S. military morale and undermined, for a time, the U.S. commitment to being immortal

As its name says, the Vietnam War took place mainly in Vietnam, the easternmost country on the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia.

Both sides wanted the same thing, a unified Vietnam. But while He and his supporters wanted a nation modeled after other communist countries, Ba and many others wanted a Vietnam with close economic and cultural ties to the West.

Because the United States had gained control of Guam, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines, Alfred T. Mahan supported what
LenaWriter [7]

Answer:

OA - An expansion of the American navy

Explanation:

By arguing that sea power—the strength of a nation’s navy—was the key to strong foreign policy, Alfred Thayer Mahan shaped American military planning and helped prompt a worldwide naval race in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Mahan studied at Columbia for two years beginning in 1854—he was a member of the Philolexian Society, the campus literary club established in 1802—before decamping for Annapolis, from which he graduated in 1859. A longtime naval officer who cut his teeth on the Union side in the Civil War, Mahan eventually lectured on history and strategy at the Naval War College in Newport, R.I. It was there, inspired in part by a history of Rome, that he began developing his theories; in 1890 he turned his lecture notes into The Influence of Sea Power upon History, 1660-1783.

Read the quotation from Common Sense, and then answer the question. What is the message of the quotation? Becoming independent i
Zepler [3.9K]

The quote suggests that independence must be taken, it can not be won.

Independence according to Paine had to be "declared" meaning the colonists had to take their independence. It is not an action and it certainly will not be given to the colonists. He doesn't want the colonies to miss an opportunity to declare their intentions. If the colonists declare independence then it has to be taken from them instead of given.

Common Sense was written by Thomas Paine and argued that independence was necessary for the colonists to ever be free. He argued that the biggest problem was the English Constitution and therefore as long as the colonists remained colonies they would never have the rights they wanted.
