If you need the number in fractional form after rounding to the nearest hundredth, put the decimal part over 100 and simplify. For example, turningpi into a fraction, start with 3.14. Rewrite as 3 and 14/100. Simplify to 3 and 7/50.

How do I solve this question?
goldfiish [28.3K]
Basically there are 58 boys and each one can only answer once. Its mentioned that 20 boys dont play baseball or basketball so you'll write that down. Then its mentioned that 31 dont play baseball so you subtract 20 from 31 since each boy only answer once. your all left with 11 boys who dont play baseball but play football. In total 31 boys dont play baseball at all. 16 of them play football but earlier we figured out that 11 of those 16 boys also play foot ball dont play baseball so you subtract 11 from 16 and you left with 5 boys who play baseball and football together. The total number of football players is 16. your going to want to subtract 31 from 58 to get the remaining boys who play baseball which will be 27. Finally you subtract 5 from 27 and you'll get 22 boys who dont play football but play baseball. Hoped this helped if not then just look at the picture.

Lisa is 6 centimeters taller than her friend Ian. Ian is 10 centimeters taller than Jim. Every month, their heights increase by
Temka [501]

Lan is 146 centimeters tall now.

Explanation

Let, Lan's current height is h centimeters

As Lisa is 6 centimeters taller than Lan and Lan is 10 centimeters taller than Jim, so Lisa's current height = (h+6) centimeters and Jim's current height = (h-10) centimeters.

Every month, their heights increase by 2 centimeters.

So, after 5 months.....

Lan's height = h+(2*5)=(h+10) centimeters,

Lisa's height = (h+6)+(2*5)= (h+16) centimeters and

Jim's height = (h-10)+(2*5)= h centimeters

Given that, the sum of Ian's and Jim's heights will be 140 centimeters more than Lisa's height in 5 months. So the equation will be....

(h+10)+h= (h+16)+140\\ \\ 2h+10=h+156\\ \\ 2h-h=156-10\\ \\ h=146

So, the current height of Lan is 146 centimeters.
