The Seneca Falls Convention of 1848 was the beginning of an organized movement by women to reach equality in the United States.

In 1920, the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution provided women the right to vote in national elections. The women's movement continued to work toward economic and social equality, making great progress in the "Second Wave" of feminism in the 1960s and 1970s. However an Equal Rights Amendment has not yet been ratified in the United States. Many feel that the women's movement in the U.S. has achieved most of its most important goals and therefore there is lessmotivation to work hard for further gains. Others feel that women still suffer serious discrimation in many areas of life in the United States and that much progress is still badly needed. The most important and immediate needs of women in today's world is freedom, equal pay for the work they do that men also do, RESPECT from the male population throughout the world! Men should not be able to control a woman just because she is female. Women should not have to suffer abuse at the hand of men because they think they own her because of marriage or other relationships.

What are the differences in the fight for independence from Britain for Canada and the US?
Vikentia [17]

Answer:

The independence processes of the United States and Canada were very different from each other.

The United States obtained its independence from Great Britain after a war of independence that lasted from 1775 to 1783. That is, it was a violent and convulsive process, in which both nations faced each other to settle their directly opposed interests.

On the other hand, Canada walked its way towards independence in a peaceful way. In 1867 the Constitution Act was approved, which created the Dominion of Canada, with an autonomous government but subject to the laws of the British Parliament. Years later, in 1931, the Statute of Westminster was approved, establishing the legislative equality of the British and Canadian Parliament. Finally, in 1982, the Constitution of Canada eliminated dependence on the British Parliament.
