Kya has read two myths, each from a different culture, about a great flood that destroyed the world. Read the following summarie

s. In the first myth, the world is destroyed because the people had become very wicked and had strayed from religious behavior. God warns one righteous couple in advance. They build a great boat and save themselves, their family, and two of every animal. In the second myth, the Earth floods because it is thrown into a great ocean by a demon. The Earth and its greatest sages are saved by a saintly king who recognizes the gods’ instructions as they are issued from the mouth of what appears to be a fish. Based on the summaries, which statement comparing the cultural contexts of these myths is accurate? A. The tellers of both myths seem to believe in a god who protects those who are saintly or righteous. B. The tellers of both myths seem to believe that their god can speak through the mouths of animals. C. Both myths suggest that the myth-tellers ate fish. D. Both myths suggest a belief in evil non-human beings that protect the Earth.

A. The tellers of both myths seem to believe in a god who protects those who are saintly or righteous.

In the first myth God saves one "righteous couple". In the second myth the sages are saved by a "saintly king". These details would indicate that both cultures believe in a god who protects those who are saintly or righteous.

The other options are simply incorrect. The first myth does not have any animal take on human qualities. It also does not talk about fish at all. Option D is also wrong because neither of the myths have an evil being protecting the earth.

Answer: breaking the bill = giving change

               common clay  = ordinary man

                trifle  = small amount

                 larks  = tricks

Explanation: In this excerpt from Mark Twain's "The £1,000,000 Bank-Note", the tiles and the boxes to form correct pairs are matched above. In this short story, Henry presents the £1,000,000 Bank-Note to the man who has served him in the restaurant. This man cannot believe his eyes because there are only two £1,000,000 Bank-Notes and one has already been used. He thinks that an ordinary man cannot handle such a bill and doesn't give change to Henry saying that that small amount can be left for some other time. The man supposes that being dressed as a homeless is because he is playing tricks on people.

(MC) Read the following excerpt from the article "Vision, Voice and the Power of Creation: An Author Speaks Out," by T. A. Barro
lesya692 [45]
The author explicitly says that spirit can be found in the voice of a character.
Explicitly means directly - so it means that the author didn't hide the fact that he knew what could be found in the voice.
Here is what he says:
That is wholly appropriate, for in the breath—the voice—of a character lies its essential spirit.
So the correct answer is definitely spirit.
