This sounds like satire to me. the speaker is, in a way, mocking those who disregard their own ignorance in situations to answer or quote something that they believe to be true, but is actually incorrect.

The correct answer is D) satire.

The above quote is an example of satire.

When we read the quote "…it is best one should quote what one doesn’t understand at all in the language one knows the least," we realize we are talking about satire.

This quote is from the great Voltaire. This quote appears in his book "Candice and Other Stories.," considered by the experts a classic satire novel. It was published in 1759. In the novel, Voltaire makes a parody of some elements of religion and politics. Voltaire (1694-1778), was one of the most important French writers during the Enlightenment. So yes, when we read the quote "…it is best one should quote what one doesn’t understand at all in the language one knows the least," we realize we are talking about satire.

What do Athanasius and John’s different responses to seeing the gold reveal about their contrasting points of view in the beginn
vivado [14]

Athanasius thought of the gold as an opportunity to help people whereas John fled from the scene as if he was being chased by a monster thinking that taking gold out of somewhere was a sin.

Explanation:

 • Athanasius wanted to take the gold as he saw no sin in helping the neighbor population with it but everything John felt was fear as soon as he saw the gold.
 • John was a man of simple ethics and lifestyle and didn't want any complications to his life.
 • Athanasius was a man of his own doings and always liked to think otherwise. He believed the bag of gold was a gift from an angel.
 • John believed in changing things for people by on's hard work and determination.
 • Both the brothers varied with different perspectives on life.

Can someone help me with this please
Amanda [17]

Answer:

John was saying by his words that he thought of her sometimes but he wouldn't dare try to go after her again. His tone was kind of rude and I say this because he literally said "I'll cut off my hand."

Abigail was saying for them not to speak another word about anything or she would pretty much kill them with a knife in the dead of night. Her tone wasn't nearly as nice as John meant his. The words used to say this was "I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and I will bring a pointy reckoning that will shudder you."

Explanation:

I hope this helps!
