Before, people were not gatherers, because not many plants even existed. When everything melted down, the apes had to start adapting to a more versatile diet, with more variety. Soon, not only did they begin gathering, but also hunting new and evolved animals, while they evolved eventually to what we are today.
Before the Bering strait was coverd by wate again people were nomads were they found food but did not settle they would hunt large animals like the woolly mammoth or sabor tooth tigers. When the bering strait was coverd the first americas had to hunt smaller game like deer rabit ect. they learned how to fish and started to experiment with planting the first thing they planted was maze or corn. Some of the americas were still nomads but most started to settle and build communities. This is how the end of the ice age affected the habit of food gathering by going from nomads hunting and not settling to the first americas were they started planting and settling.
