Then, make a compare and contrast chart to compare their lives with those of the freed slaves after the Civil War.

A country example would be Iran and Iraq, Iraq invaded Iran on 22 September 1980, triggering a bitter eight-year war which destabilised the region and devastated both countries. The then Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein claimed as a reason for the invasion a territorial dispute over the Shatt al-Arab, the waterway which forms the boundary between the two countries. This is compared to the civil war since both races in the Iran/Iraq war races majority are Muslim who disagree with each other. War changes people by destroying their normal way of life making it harder to get food. People who are used to war activity in their country are usually the same.
