Alright, so there's a rule to parallel lines that says that whatever the slope is of one of the lines, all of the lines parallel to it are going to have the same slope. The slope you have here is -5/1 or -5, therefore, your slope for every other line parallel to it will be the same.

Find the slope of a line that goes through (9, -10) and (-8,-9)
Doss [256]

Answer:

y = -1/17x - 17

Step-by-step explanation:

(9, -10) and (-8,-9)

\frac{-9+10}{-8-9} = -1/17       use slope formula to find the slope

y + 9 = -1/17 (x + 8)      plug numbers into point-slope formula

y + 9 = -1/17x - 136/17       use the distributive property to simplify

y= -1/17x - 17      solve and simplify
