The situation that represents irony in "The Convict and the Bishop" is option A. Valjean steals from the bishop who has shown him the kindness and understanding he sought.

Irony is a figure of speech in which words are used in such a way that their intended meaning differs from the actual meaning of the words. It may also be a situation that ends up in quite a different way than what is generally anticipated. To put it simply, it is a difference between appearance and reality.

Explain why the founders might not be troubled by gridlock, even if it hampers the governmental process.
Anastaziya [24]

Is like what Sean Roberts said: That the government is made up of three branches, which are made to see each other to make sure no branch is dominating the other two. They are all the time trying to find a balance among the three branches (Judicial, Executive, and Legislative). The founders created this in order to have an effective government in decision making.

Also, Gridlock is when something isn't moving. You can also call it a stalemate. The government is meant to have gridlock. For example, it can take a WHILE, a few years, for a decision to be made on a certain issue, and when it has to do with something controversial it takes longer (like abortion, which still, to this day, is a heated topic in politics), which makes people complain about how "slow" the American government is when making decisions.

Hope this helps.

Dialogue between mother and daughter asking permission to go to her friend's house
SIZIF [17.4K]

Here is a sample dialogue between a respectful daughter and loving mother. The daughter is asking her mother if she can go to her friend Julia's house for a few hours.

"Hey mom, is it alright if I go to my friend Julia's house for a few hours?"

"What time will you be home?"

"I don't know, what time do you want me home?"

"7pm at the latest."

"Okay mom, thanks! Love you!"

"Love you too!"

Hopefully this helps!
