The primary focus of a persuasive speech
Katarina [22]
A persuasive speech / paper is basically you trying to persuade someone. So it might start off like

"Dear Milo,
Have you heard of the brand new *awesome* mall that opened today? I know you hate going places but it's got *amazing* new shops and clothes *to die* for!" Then list more reason but also try to include things like "If you do go.."

So a persuasive speech would be a speaker trying to convince a crowd to listen and agree with his / her ideas on something.

Which lines in the excerpt from Elizabeth Bishop's "The Fish" use assonance?
kipiarov [429]
Well, we cannot possibly know since you haven't written this excerpt here, but assonance is the repetition of the same vowel (a, e, i, o, u) throughout one or several lines, so you can see for yourself what the correct answer is. :)

Answer:  They both are caring about how Sara does, and are very proud of her, and both have really nice manners

Explanation:

Manners come right from the text "MRS. BLAKE: How do you do, Mrs. Parker? It’s nice to finally meet you."

"MRS. PARKER: It’s nice to meet you too, Mrs. Blake."

They both care for how Sara does also comes from the text

"Both fear that Sara’s timid behavior will affect her overall performance in class.

Both motivate Sara to work harder in order to get the best grades in the class."
