The correct answer should be Smiley will bet on anything, on any side.

Smiley doesn't even care whether he supports something or not, as long as he can bet on it. He even bets on which frog can jump the highest against people who don't have frogs, so he catches new frogs for them just so they could bet on it. That's why he gets tricked in the end.

On the poem I went to the party mom, how do we know that the narrator had no idea what would happen after the party?
a_sh-v [17]

In the poem, we know the narrator had no idea what would happen after the party when he says "As I got into my car, Mom, / I knew I'd get home in one piece."

What is the poem about?

The poem "I Went to a Party Mom" was most likely written with the intention of raising awareness concerning the dangers of drinking and driving. The speaker in the poem is a boy who, before leaving to a party, is warned by his mother not to drink and drive.

The speaker obeys his mother and only drinks soda. However, the others at the same party do not have the same concern as he does. As they all leave to go home, the speaker gets into his car and is hit by an intoxicated boy driving. The speaker knows he is going to die even though he did the right thing, whereas the other boy will live.

Reading the poem, we know the speaker had no idea what would happen after the party because he says:

As I got into my car, Mom,

I knew I'd get home in one piece.

As we can see, he is sure that everything will be okay since he obeyed his mother and did not drink.

With the information above in mind, we can conclude that the answer provided above is correct.

Read the following poem: Roses are red, and violets are blue. Which word best describes the first two line endings of this poem?
tigry1 [53]

Answer: B. Enjambed

Enjambment refers to the incomplete syntax at the end of the line, which means that the sentences run from one line of poetry to the next, without terminal punctuation (period). Lines that are not enjambed are called "end-stopped." Enjambment serves to increase tension as the meaning is delayed until the sentences are completed.
