What are similar polygons

Similar polygons have the same shape . Corresponding angles are equal.

For example 2 squares will be similar. The lengths of the sides may be different though but corresponding sides will be in the same ratio. For example you might have a square of side length 4 and another of sides length 6. They are similar and the ratio of corresponding side is 4/6  or 2/3.

Polygons whose corresponding angles are congruent and whose corresponding sides are proportional are called similar polygons.
