Trace the shift in ideas that moved the French Revolution from constitutional monarchy to democratic despotism.
kherson [118]

The origin of the shift in ideas that that moved the French Revolution from constitutional monarchy to democratic despotism was due to the inability of the revolutionaries under the auspices of Committee for Public Safety to solve the problem of poverty and injustice.

This made the revolution in France not to end with democracy but in dictatorship and this is perhaps the worst reign of terror in French History due to the Mass execution that happened withing this period.

The French Revolution

The French Revolution was a period of conflict that started in 1787 and ended in 1799. Its aim was to completely change the relationship between the rulers and those they governed and to redefine the nature of political power.

This was also due to the division that had occurred in the French society where citizens were classified socially as The First, second and Third estates.
