Answer:

It cost $36 to the consumer just in materials to re-mulch the area

The dairy produce 8192 cups on average a day

Step-by-step explanation:

Dimensions of area that is needed to be mulch 30 feet by 60 feet.

1 foot = 0.333333 yards

Length = 30 feet = 9.99999 yards

Width = 60 feet = 19.99998 yards

Since we are given that They want a 3 inch layer of much on the area.

1 inch =0.0277778 yards

3 inch = 0.0833334 yards

So, the volume of mulch required for the given area :

=  length * width* thickness

= 9.99999*19.99998 *0.0833334

= 16.6666466667 cubic yards

Now 2 cubic yards can be covered with 1 bag of mulch

So, 16.6666466667 cubic yards can be covered with bags of mulch :

= \frac{16.6666466667}{2}

= 8.33332333335

Thus 9 bags are required to re mulch .

Since cost of 1 bag is $4.00

So, cost of 9 bags = 9*4 =$36

Hence it cost $36 to the consumer just in materials to re-mulch the area

Now,

The dairy produces 512 gallons of milk on average a day.

Now 1 gallon = 16 cups

So, 512 gallons = 512*16 = 8192 cups .

Hence the dairy produce 8192 cups on average a day
