How are the results of genetic drift similar to the results of gene flow?
Fynjy0 [20]
The answer is Both result in a change in allele frequencies in the affected population

Genetic drift is a change in the frequency of alleles in a population as a result of random sampling of organisms. Imagine you have two different alleles in the population responsible for red and white color of a flower. Their allele frequencies are 0.2 for white flowers and 0.8 for red flowers. After some change in the environment, only white flowers survive. They will reproduce, and in the population, there will be only white flowers. The population for these flowers will increase from 0.2 to 1.
Speaking of gene flow, it is not as dramatic and drastic as genetic drift, but still, it includes a transfer of alleles from one population to another, so there is expected a change in allele frequency.

What is the part of the cell cycle process by which chromosomes in a cell nucleus are separated into two identical sets of chrom
Damm [24]

Answer:

Mitotic phase

Explanation:

Cell cycle is composed of interphase and mitotic phase. Interphase is aphase of cell preparation. It is subdivided into:

 • G1 (gap 1 phase)-the cell grows and becomes larger
 • S phase- replication of DNA, duplication of centrosomes
 • G2 (gap 2 phase)-proteins and oranelles are made

Mitotic phase is phase of cell division, chromosomes are separated, daughter cell get identical sets of chromosomes. It is followed by cytokinesis-separation of cytoplasm. Stages of mitosis are:

 • prophase-condensation of chromatin into chromosomes, the nuclear envelope breaks down, mitotic spindle formation
 • metaphase-the chromosmes line up (metaphase plate)
 • anaphase-the siste chromatides move toward opposite cell poles
 • telophase-the nuclear envelope forms again, cell division is almost complete
