Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

The "Let something else figure this out answer" should be attempted with a graph. Start with the graph of f(x) = (x)^(1/3)

When you have that, you know that the graph has been shift right 1 unit which means that you are after g(x) = (x - 1)^(1/3) which means that only B or D can be correct, but which is it. The difference between the two is the minus sign.  Is it g(x) = (x - 1)^(1/3) or is it g(x) = -(x - 1)^(1/3)? It turns out that it is g(x) = - (x - 1)^(1/3) because that creates a reflection across the x axis.

The graph is a bit confusing because I've chosen to put all three graphs on the same axis, which is not the clearest thing to do. But if you study it carefully you'll see which is the answer.

Red: f(x) = (x)^(1/3)

Blue: g(x) = (x - 1)^(1/3)

green:g(x) = -(x - 1)^(1/3) [ Closest to your given graph]

Answer: Green (D)

if f is a differentiable function and f(0)=-1 and f(4)-3 then which of the following must be true there exists a c in [0,4] wher
iragen [17]

Answer:

True, see proof below.

Step-by-step explanation:

Remember two theorems about continuity:

  1. If f is differentiable at the point p, then f is continuous at p. This also applies to intervals instead of points.
  2. (Bolzano) If f is continuous in an interval [a,b] and there exists x,y∈[a,b] such that f(x)<0<f(y), then there exists some c∈[a,b] such that f(c)=0.

If f is differentiable in [0,4], then f is continuous in [0,4] (by 1). Now, f(0)=-1<0 and f(4)=3>0. Thus, we have the inequality f(0)<0<f(4). By Bolzano's theorem, there exists some c∈[0,4] such that f(c)=0.

Solve for c: a=7b+8c+9d-10
polet [3.4K]
<span>a=7b+8c+9d-10
a = 8c + 16d - 10
solve for c then
8c = a - 16d + 10
  c = (</span>a - 16d + 10) / 8
or
  c = a/8 - 2d + 5/4

Answer:

The probability distribution is  Normal continuous

Step-by-step explanation:

The basic idea is that velocity values have different noise level and an important thing regarding continuous probability distributions is that the probability of the random variable is equal to a specific outcome is 0

In other words, is practically impossible that one value of velocity could be the same as others.

svet-max [94.6K]

Answer:

The polygon has 9 sides

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

A regular polygon has equal length sides and equal interior angles

step 1

Find the measure of the interior angle

Remember that

The interior angle plus the exterior angle must be equal to 180 degrees (form a linear pair)

Let

x ----> the measure of each interior angle in the regular polygon

so

x+40^o=180^o

solve for x

x=180^o-40^o=140^o

step 2

Find the number of sides of the regular polygon

we know that

The measure of each interior angle in a regular polygon is given by the formula

x=\frac{(n-2)180^o}{n}

where

n is the number of sides of the polygon

substitute the given values

140^o=\frac{(n-2)180^o}{n}

solve for n

140n=180n-360\\180n-140n=360\\40n=360\\n=9\ sides

therefore

The polygon has 9 sides
