America dropped nuclear bombs on Japan two weeks after the ----- Conference.
Nezavi [6.7K]

Answer:

The Potsdam conference.

Explanation:

The Potsdam conference was held on August 2nd, 1945, for the sake of drafting peace treaties with Germany's former allies. Out of all of them, Japan outright refused the declaration, but later agreed after, tragically, atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This was a ploy by the United States government in order to force the Japanese to surrender, becoming the first AND only nation to ever use nuclear weapons in combat.

Place the events of World War II in the correct order.
Vladimir79 [104]

Answer:

1- October 23, 1944 --- Battle of Leyte

2- February 19, 1945 --- Battle of Iwo Jima

3- July 26, 1945 --- Postdam Declaration

4- August 6 and 9, 1945 --- Atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki

5- September 2, 1945 --- Liberation of the Philippines

Explanation:

1- The Battle of Leyte, also known as the Second Battle of the Philippine Sea, was a naval battle of the Pacific campaign during World War II. It took place in the Gulf of Leyte, around the homonymous island of Leyte in the Philippines, from October 23 to 26, 1944 between the Allies and the Japanese Empire.

2- The Battle of Iwo Jima, codenamed Operation Detachment, is the name given to one of the bloodiest fighting of World War II, fought on the island of Iwo Jima between the United States Marines and the army. of the Empire of Japan from February to March 1945, during the Pacific War.

3- The Declaration of Potsdam was a statement published on July 26, 1945 by the President of the United States Harry S. Truman, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Winston Churchill and the President of the Republic of China Chiang Kai-shek, who discussed the terms of the surrender of the Empire of Japan in World War II, as agreed at the Potsdam Conference. The declaration stipulated that if Japan did not surrender, it would face "prompt and total destruction".

4- The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were nuclear attacks ordered by Harry S. Truman, president of the United States, against the Empire of Japan. The attacks were carried out on August 6 and 9, 1945, respectively, which contributed, together with the Soviet-Japanese War, to the surrender of Japan and the end of World War II.

5- The Liberation of the Philippines was the American, Mexican and Filipino campaign to defeat and expel the Japanese imperial forces that occupied the Philippines, during World War II. The Imperial Japanese Army had invaded all of the Philippines during the first half of 1942. The liberation of the Philippines began with amphibious landings on the island of Leyte on October 20, 1944, and hostilities in a small part of the Philippines continued until the end of the war in September 1945.

Which Asian country defeated Russia in war and gained control of Manchuria and Korea? A. Indochina B. Thailand C. Japan D. Taiwa
lora16 [44]
I won't go into too much details but the Asian country that defeated Russia in war, namely the Russo-Japanese war(1904-05) was Japan.

It was a conflict based on good military strategy. It all started because Japan wanted Korea as a province but Russia did not allow that to happen so Japan tried to negotiate to get Korea in exchange that Russia could keep Manchuria but Russia refused and negotiations broke down so Japan thought of an alternative...war.

Japan knew that Russia had a massive army but Japan had a very mobile and well trained army so they used that to their advantage. So the Japanese fleet open fired on the Russia Eastern Fleet in Port Arthur which eventually got destroyed. As Russia suffered humiliating defeats, the country thought it could beat Japan but Japans strategy proved superior so they defeated Russia in many battles. So in order to prevent a total "defeat", Russia asked for Peace (U.S as the middleman)which gave Japan some of what it wanted but not all. This caused both countries to be dissatisfied...
