Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

A geometric sequence is defined as the sequence of number that follows  a pattern were the next term is found by multiplying by a constant called the common ratio say r.

The recursive rule is given by;

a_n = r \cdot a_{n-1} where n is the number of terms.

Given the sequence: -64, -16, -4 , -1, ....

This sequence is a geometric sequence with common ratio (r) = \frac{1}{4}

Here, first term a_1 = -64

Since,

\frac{-16}{-64} = \frac{1}{4}

\frac{-4}{-16} = \frac{1}{4} and so on....

The recursive rule for this sequence is;

a_n = \frac{1}{4} \cdot a_{n-1}

a_n=\left\{\begin{array}{ccc}a_1=-64\\a_{n+1}=a_n:4\end{array}\right\\\\check:\\a_1=-64\\a_2=a_1:4\to a_2=-64:4=-16-OK\\a_3=a_2:4\to a_2=-16:4=-4-OK\\a_4=a_3:4\to a_4=-4:4=-1-OK\\\vdots

Compare the two functions to see which has a greater rate of change. Function 1
AleksAgata [21]

Function 2 has greater rate of change

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find the rate of change we have to covert the given linear functions in slope-intercept form

<u>Function 1:</u>

<u></u>-2x+5y = 10<u></u>

Adding 2x on both sides

<u></u>-2x+5y+2x = 2x+10\\5y = 2x+10<u></u>

Dividing both sides by 5

<u></u>\frac{5y}{5} = \frac{2x+10}{5}\\y = \frac{2}{5}x +\frac{10}{5}\\y = \frac{2}{5}x+2<u></u>

Let m1 be rate of change of function 1:

<u></u>m_1 = \frac{2}{5}<u></u>

<u></u>

<u>Function 2:</u>

<u></u>-6x+3y = 18<u></u>

Adding 6x on both sides

<u></u>-6x+3y+6x = 6x+18\\3y = 6x+18<u></u>

Dividing both sides by 3

<u></u>\frac{3y}{3} = \frac{6x+18}{3}\\y = \frac{6x}{3} + \frac{18}{3}\\y= 2x+6<u></u>

Let m2 be the slope of function 2

<u></u>m_2 = 2<u></u>

As we can see that

<u></u>m_2>m_1<u></u>

Function 2 has greater rate of change

Answer:

4 with 3

Step-by-step explanation:

the only ones that are perpendicular to each other are

y = 7/4 x - 2 with y = - 4/7 + 2

since the condition is met so that two lines are perpendicular

slope1 * slope2 = -1

7/4 * -4/7 = -1  correct
