The final line (For oft, when on my couch I lie) uses inverted syntax.

The first three sentences use normal syntax: subject first, then verb.

The final sentence, however, uses inverted syntax and places the object (my couch) before the subject and verb.

Which of the following statements best describe the character traits of the narrator in the short story, "The Wedding Night"? Se
Vanyuwa [196]

Answer:

Alone with me?” I replied, “But you have been alone with me all the way from Paris, in the train.”

Explanation:

The author’s feeling remains the same but he uses different tones in the story to express his feelings. In most of his narration, he speaks as if he was an outsider who is commenting on subject to the eye of the character to show his feelings and express them.

Further, the narrator uses direct discourse when the words of the narrator sounds like the pattern of a speech. For instance, Flaubert remembers his wedding and how long it happened, However, there was nothing at the final.

Which is a run-on sentence?
klasskru [66]

Answer:

The second sentence is a run-on sentence

Explanation: A run-on sentence is when two or more independent clauses (phrases that can stand on their own as a sentence) are not connected properly. You can connect them with a comma, or a conjunction(and, so, etc)

The second sentence has two independent clauses, "you must be going somewhere nice" and "your outfit is so elegant". However, these aren't connected properly so the answer is the second choice.
