The right question is

x ^{2} -8x=20

now multiply 1/2 by the coefficient of x which is 8

\frac{1}{2}  \times 8=4

now add square of 4 on both side of equation we will get

{x}^{2} -8x+ {4}^{2} =20+ {4}^{2}

(x-4)^2=20+16

(x-4)^2=36

taking square root on both sides

we get

(x-4)=-+6

x-4=6,  x-4=-6

x=6+4 , x=-6+4

x=10,-2

so third option is correct

if u find any confusion u can ask me

i hope you will understand it

Thank u

How do the courts help to protect civil liberties and rights?
Umnica [9.8K]

<em>The Constitution states people’s rights and civil liberties but sometimes this rights are violated. Per example regarding discrimination matters; the right to vote; to have a house; to have education. In these cases a person can go to the court and they can sue the one who is violating their rights. Then the court can interfere in the situation against the government, business or the person that is violating your rights. The court can check if the law is being applied accordingly with the Constitution and can set measures to make your rights being applied using many legal tools as financial penalty, prohibitions or law adjustments.</em>

1. Which Dixon leader was most in favor of annexation by the United States?
adoni [48]

1- The correct answer is A. Samuel Houston was the Texan leader who most supported the annexation to the United States. In fact, he was President of the Republic of Texas twice, and from his position he always fought for annexation, unlike others like Mirabeau Lamar. In addition, it is stated that Houston went to Texas sent by President Andrew Jackson to achieve annexation.

2- Houston argued that the annexation had to be carried out to respect the will and right of the Texan people (which were made up of American settlers) to decide the legal status of their territory. This argument is related to the right of self-determination of peoples, which I consider valid since it's theb population who has the power to decide on their future and that of the territory they inhabit and administer, not being the states able to make decisions contrary to the people and their will.
