China invaded Vietnam in 111 BC and annexed it. This long chinese rule influenced Vietnam with its own rich culture, especially through Confucianism. Confucianism is the development of the teachings of Confucius, the Chinese philosopher that transmits a moral and ethical codes as inherited from older tradition.
