Well, they kind of won their independence without the aid from foreigners; yes, they had foreign supports, and technically everyone who lives within the colonies did not originate from the colonies (families emigrated from Europe). However, their lives in the old country allowed them to win their independence

In 1859 50% of the nations wealth, stocks, bonds, land, cash was in slaves owned by southerners. They lost everything. The north pay less on the south slavery was not finish and they where trying to go to the north for better jobs and freedom the south had force slaves to work.
