Hello there!

Your answer would be September 20, 1850.

On that day, Congress signed to abolish the slavery trade that was in the District of Columbia in a legislative package called the Compromise of 1850. Even though the slave trade has discontinued, the ownership of slaves continued since this law did not apply to slave ownership. Especially people that live in southern parts of the United States were not happy for things like this to happen, and they wouldn't like slavery to be abolished for good.

Which statement best describes the political position of Great Britain during the civil war?
bonufazy [111]

The correct answer is C) the British government favored the North over the South.

The statement that best describes the political position of Great Britain during the Civil War was "the British government favored the North over the South."

The British government tried to maintain neutrality but had political interests with the North and economic interest with the South. On paper, they supported the North because England did not want another confrontation with the Union that could end up in war. The Union warned foreign countries not to support the rebel states in any way because it could be an act of war against the United States. But Britain imported cotton from the Confederated states plantations, so they were very cautious to keep trading with the South and avoid a political confrontation with the North

What sacred writing contain the religious beliefs of Judaism, including the ten commandments?
muminat
People of that time spoke "Aramic", they did not speak Hebrew due to their captivity by the Arabic Babylonians, and they adopted the language over time, but that was not the language or writing used for the 10 commandments. The commandments were written in Proto-Aramic.
