The Stamp Act directly led to the writing of the Declaration of Independence. The Stamp Act was a tax law that was applied by the British Parliament to the British colonies in America in 1765.

EXPLANATION

This law required printing materials in colonies to be produced on stamped paper from London and stamped. Printouts included legal documents, playing cards, magazines, newspapers, and other paper documents. The sale and purchase of materials were carried out in British currency, not colonial money.

The Stamp Act was used to pay British military troops stationed in post-War American colonies against France and India. The colonists objected to the application of this tax. They said they were never afraid of the French invasion and felt they had paid the costs of the British war against France and India.

The Stamp Act was strongly opposed by colonists. They felt their rights were violated by the British who applied taxes without their prior consent. The agreement in question was through legislative colonial representation. Then a slogan "There is no tax without representation" became popular. Resistance movements from the community became more active after that.
