Last week f40 fifth graders went on a field trip to the science museum
Xelga [282]
8 out of 40 fifth graders went to see the lab animal presentation. This can be written as this expression:

\frac{8}{40}

Find the greatest common factor of 8 and 40:

Factors of 8: 1, 2, 4, 8
Factors of 40: 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 10, 20, 40

Therefore the greatest common factor is 8. Divide both the numerator and the denominator by 8.

\frac{8}{40} = \frac{8/8}{40/8} = \frac{1}{5}

Therefore the fractional part is \frac{1}{5}.

To get the percentage, you need to get the denominator to a value of 100.

To do so, you need to find the value to multiply both the numerator and denominator by to achieve this.

To get this value, you can divide 100 by the denominator of the fractional value.

100 / 5 = 20

Then you can multiply both the numerator and denominator by 20:

\frac{1}{5} = \frac{1 * 20}{5 * 20} = \frac{20}{100}

From here, the numerator will state the percentage:

20\%

Hope this helps :)

Originally priced at $15.99 was marked down 15% and then it was moved to a clearance rack marked take an additional 50% off the
Setler [38]
First, the mark down 15% would make the value 85% of the original, so doing 15.99*0.85 gives you 13.59. Then take that and multiply that by 0.5, because of the half price, to get a final price of $6.79

I need help with 32 please help!!
ser-zykov [4K]

Im not doing the answer but here is a super awesome way to figure it out with tens. and since you ave a computer just use calculator. if the exponent is over a ten, its literally telling u how many zeros to put so if I have 10^5 I put 5 zeros behind it. So just do that in a calculator to get the values and then its as simple as a 3rd grade question

When the circle is filled it means the direction its going (less than or greater than) or equal to in this case the line is going farther than -10 so its greater than or equal to -10. Z would be your variable so its z ≥ -10
