Easy..

let's take a view fractions and decimals and make a little example ourselves...

Let's use: \frac{1}{4}, 0.75, \frac{1}{2}, and 1

Keep it simple...

So, now let's plot those on a number line...it's fairly easy...

Just change those fractions into decimals to make them easier to manage...

\frac{1}{4} =0.25
and
\frac{1}{2} =0.50

Leaving you with: 0.25,0.75,0.50, and 1.

Now, plot..

0      |    |   |   |    |    |    |     |     |      |      |      |    |    1

        (0.25)         (0.50)               (0.75)                  (1)

Easy. :D

Solutions

Fractions have two part. The denominator and the numerator<span>.
</span>
The denominator in a fraction represents the total number of equal size pieces that make up a whole. For example 7/12 of a foot means one foot<span> is broken into 12 equal sized divisions.</span>

<span>The numerator in a fraction represents the number of pieces selected. If the numerator is larger than the denominator, the number is larger than one. For example, 15/12 of a foot is equivalent to </span>

12/12 + 3/12 = 1 + 3/12 = 1 1/4.

A common denominator is needed when adding, subtracting and comparing fractions because each object needs to be cut into the exact same size pieces to be able to combine, remove or compare.

A Decimal Number has to contain a Decimal Point. example 45.6. 45.6 has 4 Tens, 5 Ones and 6 Tenths. The word add represents a decimal point.

1/2 = 0.5    -- Least

1.96 -- greatest

If a = 20 mm, b = 12 mm, and m∠C = 80°, what is the approximate area of ABC?
Lana71 [14]

Answer:

118.18 mm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Sides <em>a</em> and <em>b</em> form angle C, so the information given is a side-angle-side (SAS) problem.

Use the formula A=\frac{1}{2}ab\sin{C}.

A=\frac{1}{2}(12)(20)\sin{80^\circ} \approx 118.18 \rm \,mm^2
