Transcriptome is sum total of all the mRNA expressed in an organism. It is known that every cell of different tissues have different gene expression. The difference in the expression is the reason behind variation of physical, biochemical and developmental factors of different cells belonging to dissimilar tissues.

Further Explanation:

Transcriptome is defined as a sum total of all the messenger RNA or mRNA present in an organism or a specific tissue. Majority of our cell genome is similar in all the tissues but the main difference is in the expression.

Transcripts are the intermediate product formed during the formation of a functional component of a tissue i.e. protein from a genetic code. Every cell belonging to different tissue has different physiological functions which makes the protein that is the functional element dissimilar.

Analyzing transcriptome can help us to understand which genes are unregulated and which one is down regulated that will help us to understand which proteins are formed in which particular tissue. This information can help us to understand function of tissues and the cells.

One glucose molecule provides enough carbon for two trips through the citric acid cycle. How many molecules of ATP are directly
Nuetrik [128]

Answer: 38 molecules of ATP

Explanation:

Glycolysis is the cellular degradation of the simple sugar glucose to yield pyruvate, and ATP as an ENERGY source.

The pyruvate ENTERS the Citric acid cycle yielding ATP and some REDUCING EQUIVALENTS like FADH and NADH.

These reducing equivalents enters the ELECTRON TRANSPORT SYSTEM to yield molecules of ATP.

So, the number of moles of ATP generated from two trips is 38 molecules.

Which of the following statements is true regarding DNA replication? A. The 5' to 3' orientation of the new strand will depend u
algol [13]

Answer:

These options are true about DNA.

A. The 5' to 3' orientation of the new strand will depend upon where it is in the replication bubble relative to the position where replication first starts.

B. The new strand is the opposite of the template strand.

C. The new strand is an exact complement to the template strand.

Explanation:

Since the two strands of a DNA double helix are antiparallel, this 5′-to-3′ DNA synthesis can take place continuously on only one of the strands at a replication fork (the leading strand). On the lagging strand, short DNA fragments must be made by a “backstitching” process. The opposite strand with a base sequence directly corresponding to the mRNA sequence is refereed as  coding strand. See images for clarification.
