I think it's because people tend to be afraid or anxious of people and situations that are less familiar to them. It is easier to decide that you won't bother to try to get to know someone who is different from you, because you can choose to do nothing. It is much harder to make an effort to understand someone who is different from you than it is to do nothing at all.

I think that talking about the fact that people tend to be more alike than different helps people to be more accepting of others who are different. Most people want the same things in life: to feel some measure of success, to feel included and to feel loved.

People are used to and prefer people more like their self, therefore they will be slightly hesitant to talk to someone different because they have not spoken to many people like them before.

In order to get people to talk to people different than them, the person they are talking to may introduce themselves by informing them about him/her self.

Which verb agrees with its subject? a swarm of bees __________ buzzing around that tree.
Pachacha [2.7K]
It is a because swarm in singular in this case. The whole group acts as one. As a collective noun, swarm can be plural, but only if each bee were doing something individually.

My ideas:

Well, if she is spoiled, perhaps she can have expensive clothes? Something unnecessary, let's say one of those very expensive bags

How about a piercing that would not be normally allowed for teenage girls, but she can have since she gets way with it (eyebrow?)

Read the statement. Decide which of the three guidelines would best help you to check reliability.
Aliun [14]

The guideline that would best help you to check reliability is:

  • Check the author's qualifications.

Reliability is the ability of a person to trust the message or information being passed by an author. A reliable author is experienced in his field and also holds the right qualifications.

So, checking the author's qualifications will be a good way to confirm reliability. The time period reliability in psychological research refers back to the consistency of research taking a look at or measuring tests.

For instance, if a person weighs themselves throughout the direction of an afternoon they might count on to peer a similar analysis. Scales that measured weight in a different way whenever might be of little use.
