Answer:

C) About 10 percent of the desert tortoise's energy transfers to the coyote.

Explanation:

In the given food web, the coyote is the top consumer that feeds on desert tortoise and kangaroo rat. Only 10% of the energy of one trophic level is passed to the next trophic level and 90 % of the energy is lost in respiration.

Hence, only 10% energy of desert tortoise would be delivered to coyote and rest would be lost during respiration.

Well from what you've said, they'll end up with the same amount of energy from one another at the end as the coyote takes 90% from the desert tortoise and then the desert tortoise is taking 10% of the coyotes energy. At this point we would assume that the coyote ends up with 80% as he takes 90 but the tortoise takes back 10, however we are then told that the tortoise takes 90% of the coyote and the coyote takes 10% so it's exactly the same. Therefore, I can infer from this that the energy transfer would stay the same between the coyote and the desert tortoise. Hope this helps x

How many nucleotide bases differ between your sample (labeled as O. Kisutch) and the standard sequence for O. Kisutch? Sample la
OverLord2011 [107]

The right answer is 3 nucleotide bases.

5'-CGGCACCGCCCTAAGTCTCT-3'

5'-AGGCACCGCCCTAAGTCTAC-3'

It would be necessary first to align the two sequences side by side so as to be able to compare them, and they should also be in the same direction.

The nucleotides marked in bold are the nucleotides that differ between standard and O. Kisutch.

These nucleotide changes are necessarily due to substitution mutations that exchanged one nucleotide for another in the same location.

What factor about cellular respiration are you testing? ( what makes the three bottles different?)
Anika [276]

Answer:

Gas.

Explanation:

Gas which is present makes the three bottles different from one another. There are three factors which is used for testing of cellular respiration such as amount of oxygen consumed during this process, amount of glucose used and amount of carbondioxide produced during cellular respiration. During cellular respiration, oxygen used in order to break down glucose and releases high amount of energy with the waste materials such as carbondioxide gas.
