Explanation:

The play Trifles, by Susan Glaspell was written in 1916. This play happens in one house, the place of Mr. also, Mrs. Wright. The play opens with three men and two ladies going into the Wright's surrendered house. There is incomplete business wherever you look. Filthy dishes and a portion of bread are setting out on the counter. You can clearly tell somebody left in a rush or was taken out of the blue. Among the three men are one of Mr. Wright's neighbors, Mr. Sound, the Sheriff, and the County Attorney. Mr. Sound's better half is one of the ladies present, and furthermore the Sheriff's significant other, Mrs. Subsides. The discovery that the men we had scorned as peasant guerrillas were, in fact, a lethal, determined enemy and the casualty lists
Alexxandr [17]

Answer:

The best option is letter A) felt their efforts were not successful.

Explanation:

The excerpt we are analyzing here was taken from a memoir called "A Rumor of War" by Philip Caputo. Caputo recalls his experience at the Vietnam War and how he believes America's involvement in it was all for nothing.

As we can tell from the excerpt, soldiers did not seem well prepared at first. They misjudged their enemy, thinking of them as mere "peasant guerrillas". The enemies turned out to be lethal, and more and more American soldiers died each week. That "broke [their] confidence", which means they felt their efforts were not successful. In the book, the author even says he wishes he had different war stories to tell instead of the ones he actually lived. Battles in Vietnam were exhausting and never-ending; the enemy was seemingly undefeatable, hiding in jungles filled with traps and snipers.

How can you love Chinese food and not know that you love it? The misplaced modifier is and does not know it.

What the person does not know, I would guess, is that there is a new restaurant located on the corner of Oak and Burberry that specializes in Chinese food.

There is a new restaurant on the corner of Oak and Burberry specializing in Chinese Food. If you didn't know about the Blue Lantern, check it out. Your taste buds will delight in your new discovery.

I can't think of a way of doing this without splitting this into 3 sentences and providing a name so I'm not repeating myself. If your teacher finds this unacceptable please put it in a comment and I'll see what I can do.
