Read this passage from Dragonwings by Laurence Yep. Only once during all those trips did we have any trouble. Some demon boys we

re out in the street. They stooped as if to pick up things to throw, and Father whispered to me to sit up straight and not show I was afraid. The demon boys called out some things, but we ignored them until we had passed them by. A rock whizzed by my ear and hit Red Rabbit in the side. He snorted, but plodded on as steadily as before. Based on the actions in this passage, what inference can be made about the narrator’s father? A He is too afraid to stand up to the “demon” boys. B He is strong and confident even in times of trouble. C He is unaware of the trouble caused by the boys. D He is more concerned about looking brave than being safe.

Answer:

‘ He is strong and confident even in times of trouble ‘

Explanation:

It can’t be any of the other ones, because He is being strong and telling the man to sit up straight to look more confident. Also this would be the only one that makes sense ( My opinion. ) Hope this helped! :D

Why do you want the highest Interest Rate you can find for your savings account?
WINSTONCH [101]

Answer:

When it comes to savings, a higher interest rate is the name of the game. It means a better return on your money. The interest rate is what the bank will pay you for the privilege of keeping your money.

Explanation:

For example, it’s not uncommon to get a .01% interest rate on a traditional savings or checking account, while interest rates on high-yield savings accounts can range anywhere from 1% to 1.35%. Here’s how that difference plays out in real life based on a balance of $10,000 after one year, assuming no additional deposits.

Type of savings account /Interest rate/ Balance after one year (based on

                                                               monthly compounding)

High-yield savings account/ 1.35%   / $10,135.84

Traditional savings account/ .01%     /    $10,001

That’s a difference of about $135 a year — nothing to scoff at — but that gap starts to widen the minute you make monthly deposits to boost your savings.

For example, if you made $100 monthly deposits — the equivalent of $1,200 a year — your year-end monthly balance on the low-interest savings account would be $11,201.06, compared to $11,343.29 with a high-yield savings account. Over time, this adds up.

reread the first paragraph of the novel how does the passage function? what purpose does steinbeck fulfill by beginning the nove
zheka24 [161]

The book Of Mice and Men warns against dreaming, particularly about the American Dream, and teaches us the value of friendship and connection.

In the first paragraph of Mice and Men, Steinbeck sets the scene by describing the final leg of George and Lennie's journey to their new workplace. George and Lennie are traveling to Soledad, a city in northern California whose name translates from Spanish as "loneliness" or "solitary." According to descriptions, the Salinas River's lovely and serene section is home to content animals and is reminiscent of the Garden of Eden. Steinbeck piques the reader's interest in their   background while also raising the question of how serious Lennie's error was.
