Self-definition is one of the most important processes that humans can take part in. When we "self-define" ourselves, we are striving to understand our individual worth in distinction from our interpersonal or social role.

In order to do so, we need to take part in decisions that make us unique. Some of these decisions include choosing our career, learning a new hobby or analyzing our moral values.
