In sq3r, what two steps should a student take before closely reading a text?
olasank [31]
In SQ3R, before closely reading the text, the student should do the following two steps:
1- look for keywords and ideas
2- create a set of questions

This is important because; one of the main goals of SQ3R is only remembering key fact and ignoring any unimportant text. Following the SQ3R methods, students get to improve their absorption and retention of information by 50-60 percent.

What is the topic of the first body paragraph?

It is not the only format for writing an essay, of course, but it is a useful model for you to keep in mind, especially as you begin to develop your composition skills. The following material is adapted from a handout prepared by Harry Livermore for his high school English classes at Cook High School in Adel, Georgia. It is used here with his permission.
